Tfsi using Water possibly

Featured Replies

Sure my water level /coolant was higher to the half way point and now it's on the first line of the two marks, What's it mean if it uses water? I mean I do give it some beans quite a lot but

Check the car at the same temperature. It can go up and down a bit just with temperature.

I had to top up my Octy occasionally between coolant changes but only by a little and not often (like once in 2yr).

Check the oil filler cap to see if there is a lot of coffee colour crud, a little bit isn't an issue.

Also check the expansion tank for a scum of oil.

They would point at a head gasket.

If you don't have either of those things then it's maybe just a little vapour leak in the expansion tank, a drip at the pump or a leak in the radiator.
