As above, taking my car in in a few hours for a DSG recall and was wondering if I should ask them to do this at the same time.

 

The air con does stink for a min or so at first but it soon goes away

If it's not all the time then I wouldn't say it's worth it.

 

Best way to fix is to blast the A/C on cold for at least 10 minutes then turn the heat to full (with a warm engine) and leave it for another 10 minutes (you may need to stand outside the car for that bit!).

 

It should kill any bacteria in the system.

 

You can also buy the cans of treatment yourself from motor stores if that doesn't work.
