Were you on the A55 at about 10:45 this morning Mr Ree as I came past a Superb in a VW Crafter? I was giving it some mind!

Nope.

Giving it some 'WHAT' exactly? <cough>.  :notme:

Yes! I'm normally in a VX Combo which shares same as a car and the crafters and sprinters are in their own band!

Was following a 14 plate golf GTD as he booted it between the lights earlier.

I was quite impressed. It didnt go bad at all.

Then i noticed whilst next to him at the next set. He was wearing a VW uniform (we were just down the road from a dealers). So i came to the assumption he was thrashing the life out of a demo car on his way home.

I imagine he does this every evening, until he sells it to a customer in a few weeks.

Lovely.

Or a customers car.... Works vans for the company mainly go to an Indy but the new crafter and sprinter go back to Merc and VW! The avg speed it came back with was about 75mph iirc

Christ.

Just what you want if you're the kind to gently run in your motors for the first 1k miles.

Granted though. He may have been a little more naughty than usual.

He did have me sat next to him bating him by giving him the 'drag race look' and a few little revs of the VFR haha.

That's mild compared to how the workers use them! I'm gentle and I was doing 70 odd in the Crafter today! They see them as not being their own van so rag them!

Yeah thats true. Iv been in some work vans in my time as an apprentice. Generally if its the boss driving, its driven steady, if an employer is driving its constantly floored in every gear between 3 and 4.5krpm

There is a solitary Sportline on the fleet that's a crew van for instance when they do installs on a few new builds all the workers go in that! It really doesn't get much care! The speeds they hit is shocking :o I've done 77in the Combo that's as far as it goes for me and that was only as I'd been made seriously late for a job

Those sportlines are lovely vans. Poor thing! Haha.

Ah. I never thrash anything. Iv got too much mechanical sympathy haha. The fabia never goes past 5k and only gets that if im overtaking, and the bike rarely gets past 10k and that redlines at 12k.

Iv done 50 miles on it tonight and iv only been above 7k once (where vtec kicks in) Not hanging about, still overtaking everythin, just using the torque.

Prefer to look after stuff than thrash it around
