window regulator malarky

So I finally decided to take the plunge and find out what keeps causing my wife's driver window to struggle when closing, surprise surprise one of the regulator clips is broken in two, rang local dealer closed till Monday, rang parts supplier and they refferred me to a local vw dealer parts counter to save buying the whole kit for something as simple as a clip. Went to vw,they were as much use as dog#@!? And told me they couldn't do anything without a part number... What ever happened to a description search? Bah anyway, thanks to everyone's friend eBay I've got some coming for Mon/the, though I wanted this done before Monday really.. Rant over :p

Ps. A real pain to get to the regulator!
