Hi all, i'm sure i've seen this done on other Fabias. I'm wanting to fit a blank in place of the driver's door lock - where can these be bought and are they pre-painted?

I don't mind buying one and having it painted so that's an option too.

Fleabay mate, I have one fitted to my Octavia and yes they do need painting. Just remember to state that you want one with primer when ordering. I'll look up the link it's at the below link:

I eventually bought one of these and had it painted to match my SE.

I tried to change it over at the weekend but stuggled to get the original lock barrel out - i followed the instructions supplied and it was a little loose but i couldn't get it all the way out even with wiggling the door handle about.

The only thing i could think of was to loosen the two screws but inwas too scared to try as they were already about 15 turns out.

Can anyone give me any guidance?

Managed to sort it tonight - i was a bit less of a pansy as it was just a bit stiff.

I put the key in when it was loosened off and it came out with a twist of the key and a pull.
