Removing what looks like black mastic sealant from paintwork,

Featured Replies

Ok not my skoda but my little corsa,

I removed the rear spolier to have the bottom of the tailgate painted as it was rusting along the bottom of the spoiler and found that it had been off before and somebody has used black sealant of some sort to refit it instead of the double sided tape like it should have on,

I have tried tar and glue remover, didn't work, ive tried a caramel wheel on drill and that hasn't worked either, also tried WD40 left to soak in that didn't work either,

Anybody any ideas how to get it off without damaging paintwork?????

It's probably tigerseal. Use a rag with some petrol on it.
