Have you got flat bottom steering wheel without Vrs badge

Featured Replies

Mine is BW29 and it has the badge - see the 'post your new car pictures' thread. Not that fussed whether its there or not - but looks good.

Confirmed that the programme to retro fit those missing the FBSW vRS badge is up and running.

Had my car in last Saturday for its 30 day check-up and attached to the service departments booking sheet was the notification/bulletin from SUK (which they downloaded when checking for updates/recalls) detailing the part number, ordering and fitting procedure (all costs covered by SUK).

So just waiting for the part and a phone call from the service department to get it fitted... simples!

30 day check up?

30 day check up?

It's a thing my dealer does.

It's stated as a cursory examination to make sure the car is settling in, levels are good, check for update/recall notices and answer any queries on the car!

As it happens, I left my dashcam running and reviewed the footage afterwards... mechanic lifted the bonnet, looked at the engine for 4 seconds, grunted, walked off and came back with a watering can with which he topped up the windscreen washer level, closed the bonnet and that was it - never even looked at the oil level!

He did also spend a bit of time sitting in the front seat belching as well as shuffling and farting into my nice leather and may have plugged in the OBD briefly to check for error codes, but I can't confirm this as it was out of the view of the camera.

Just a BS exercise to make it look like they care so it seems.

Don't have one in mine and actually prefer it that way

Mine doesn't have the badge so thinking of getting it changed. I'm sure there was a photo of it on here somewhere but can't find it now. Anyone have the link?

Been to look at my Vrs today badge and flatbottom.

Flat bottom. No vRS badge.

Will chase dealer at some point.

Got the call from Giltrap Skoda in Auckland today. fbsw badges rolling out in NZ now.

My VRS went in for some trim rattles to be sorted by my local dealer and on collection of the vehicle this evening the VRS badge has been fitted to the steering wheel, so it appears that the program is now in full swing.

What amazed me more is the invoice states the badge has a unit price of £51.44 plus 5p for a sticker lol

Our car we built at end of July and arrived in Australia in early September 14. It has the VRS insert in a flat bottomed wheel.

While visiting the dealer for winter tire fitment earlier this week, i got booked for a software update (towhook related) and a badge..

dealer fitted the missing steering wheel badge to my car while they had it in fixing it after a breakdown.

Got a call from the dealer today telling me about the recall. Got it booked in, apparently the steering wheel has to come off for it to be done. Tempted to change my mind now as they'll probably make a rocks of it!

Utter bo****ks… steering wheel doesn't have to be removed… saw the Skoda notification and procedure sheets when they did mine and any monkey with a spanner could do it - it's a piece of trim for God's sake!!!

Would avoid your dealer as if that's the way they think it's done they'll probably be wanting to remove the doors to get in the car to do it... and take the bonnet off when you next take it in for a service it!!!

Little bit of faith restored.....the lass that rang me saying its a wheel off job has apologised for getting it so wrong so i let them fit the badge and give it a jetwash and hoover out while they were at it. I wanted to take it away and do it myself but that wasn't allowed as they couldn't charge Skoda for the work then lol

Thought I would bump this rather than start a fresh post.

If anyone has a flat bottom steering wheel without the vRS badge and wants one with the badge then providing yours is mint (mine is 10 days old) then I am prepared to swap my vRS one FOC.
