Rear interior lights

Featured Replies

Above the rear doors on a estate is it possible to fit some ? Looks strange not having some at the rear as the only lights I have are the front ones, the leon I swapped the skoda for had lights at the rear, estate lads is it possible ?

Cheers ken

I have fitted the standard elegance lamps in mine, they come on with doors open or can be switched on via overhead switch for front lamps whilst on the move if needed.

Ah so the wires arnt there ready to connect ? That's a bugger and I would want black lights as all my grab handles are black as well as the headliner wonder if it's possible to get the black lights off a mk4 golf and wire them in instead

I just got grey lamps and repainted them satin black, cost me a fiver for both plus the cut off proper plugs at local breakers. I also cut out a small bit of the donor headlining to use as a template to cut the headlining in right place Fitted led bulb and job done.

Running wires is easier if you use figure eight cable, takes about 10 mins per side to do. Just sun visor off on each side, partially pull down the door seals by the headlining, and release the upper b post trim to allow you to pass the wiring, although you could use a straightened metal coat hanger and skip that bit if you want, takes about the same amount of time

You can get new lamps in the correct colour but I believe they are now about £18 plus vat each now.

Cost doesn't really bother me I would love it to look oem so looks like I will be going to the breakers yard for cables and the metal cage so I can cut it perfect then pop them straight in

I work at Nissan so I know my way around cars (the production plant in Washington, Sunderland)

With your skill set it will be no problem for you, just be gentle removing the trim clips, also forgot, it is handy if you pop the a post trims so you don't damage or crease the headlining running cables to the main front lamp opening.

If you check the useful part numbers sticky on this section main page, the part number you need is on the first page if I remember correctly.
