Longevity of solid flywheel conversions?

Featured Replies

Nothing too technical folks, just want a rough idea of the miles people have done since doing the vr6/g60 conversion, before it caused any issues (if any). I'm aware it will be a bit rougher on idle, but from what i can tell there are some people that say it kills the engine, and others that can't stop singing it's praises. With any luck, i'll get enough responses to see what's what. lol

Not seen one lol an engine yet

Seen them on cars that have done 60k plus on one

Perfect upgrade

What kills engines is when a solid flywheel is used with an unsprung clutch

Mine's done almost 50k. Nothing to report.

I used genuine/new VW parts.

G60 flywheel is only 0.7kg lighter than the standard fit dual mass anyway.

You wouldn't really expect any issues if you use the right parts.

Sounds good to me then. Think that'll be going on the shopping list.
