55plate Mk1 VRS

I need to replace the oil seal on the gearbox drive shaft.

see pic

I went to the local Skoda dealer to order one and I have to say it wasnt really clear from their computer which oil seal I needed from the list offered on the screen, as all the pics were from the LH side of the gearbox not the clutch side. Unfortunately nothing was labelled "input shaft oil seal" or similar. The Parts Dept guy wasnt sure which one it was either.

In the end we went for part number K02M311113A. Its now on order . £2.89.

Is this the correct seal or do I need a different one.

The gearbox code is HDS, if thats any help.

I reckon from looking on Partscats that you've ordered the correct seal for the input shaft.

The engine crankshaft seal comes complete with metal housing and is not cheap. Part number  06A103171A

Not sure if the rubber seal might be available separately somewhere.

You'd certainly think so from the photo.

Can you tell me the part number of the drive shaft oil seal ?

If you are leaking gearbox oil at the shaft, you need oil seal 02M 311 113 A.

If you are leaking engine oil at the shaft, you need rear sealing flange 06A 103 171 A.

He's replacing them both as per his other thread.
