Blackout

Featured Replies

I know it won't be to everyone's taste but I decided to rid my car of the little amount of chrome on it as it didn't seem to "fit".

I cheated and used plastidip so when I sell, or decide I don't like it, I can just peel it off.

Forgive the dirty car, I only cleaned the areas to be painted so I could properly ensure dry surfaces. I'll wash it once it's cured...

Very nice. Plasti dip is lovely to work with. Lacquer it for a longer life!

Is the logo raised so you can still see it, or is it just a black circle now?

You can just see the logos embossed through the paint up close, very slightly raised (the new style badge would be better) . I've since peeled the paint from the rear skoda badge off as it looked odd I thought. I like the front and two rear badges though so will leave them.

Thanks for the tip, I fully intend on removing it all at some point so if I went for a clear coat/lacquer I'd look for a plasti dip compatible one. I think they do one, I just don't want to affect peeling.

I can't help thinking the rear lights look too bright and "happy" now though.

Weather was crap on Sunday so didn't get around to the wash ...

Thanks for that. I don't think I'll embellish this time though. I am planning to black out my wheel centres though.
