Car seems to be using a fair bit of oil, the check oil light came on today! Topped it up, left it running for 2 min s and still agent gone out, it seems to have a used a little coolant aswel!? I'm worried lol! The oil went down to minimum , that the dipstick showed, so topped it up to like 3/4 to max and still check oil light is on

Luckily, oil light came on wen I had iginiton on last click, so topped it up, kept checking it, then started car , it came on again' left it running, turned it off, ignition again and it's fine, so maybe I need to check it more often! But seems to have drunk a fair bit in 2 weeks!!..

What can the causes of using /burning oil be!?!?!?

I had this problem when a garage had topped up the oil using 15w30 instead of 15w40. God knows how they got it so wrong, but I went back to the "proper" oil and it seemed to sort it.
