7 weeks in :)

Featured Replies

Seven weeks of Superb ownership and I must say I still smile when I look at it, still smile when I drive it, even with the slight issue with the AC fan it has not changed my comment....

"It really is the best, smoothest, most relaxed car I have owned"

Don't use it much, only at weekends, 1300 miles in 7 weeks and 900 of those done in 2 weeks on holiday Lol

good to hear and have to agree after a few weeks myself.

Done 1600 miles now in about 5 journeys, after a mammoth 650 mile drive to S of France this week, and loving almost everything about the car. More comfortable, quieter and smoother than my previous Merc and already doing high 50's mpg on long runs, despite being the 170bhp DSG. Cup holders are stupidly small and dont fit a mug or waterbottle, the control of the iPod through the BT is crap and the boot seems particularly finicky about latching properly sometimes, but otherwise I'm very happy as well.

Hope it continues....

Hi All

3 weeks into my ownership of a superb elegance 170  dsg.

So far, changed the dsg oil and filter,  Changed the engine oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter.

Cleaned it, polished it, cleaned and treated the leather.

2 new wiper blades, 1 rear light bulb.

Off to the south of france in 2 weeks and my air con is now playing up!!

Hot air from the drivers vents and cool from the others. Until I went out in it today and it seemed

to be back to normal??

Also got a bit of a drone at certain speeds, almost sounds like road/tyre noise but its not. (not the air inlet fitting either).

Other than that, lovin it   lol

will be putting about 3,000 miles on it in the 3 weeks away so hope all will be ok.

Enjoy

At what speed do you experience the drone?  Does it sound a bit like a bearing but not as loud?

I have a drone too, but I have 95% narrowed this down to the worn rear tyres.

In the past two years of ownership, mine has done the same about three or four times, but it's SWMBO who gets all the hot air!  Even on maximum cold, it'd blow maximum heat.  Each time it'd go back to normal next time I used it.  The last time it happened to me was in November last year.

I took it to the dealer for the first service last week and asked them to check for any faults, but they couldn't find anything wrong.

You can try resetting the flaps by pressing air con and face vents buttons at the same time for a second or so.  It goes through a sequence of opening and closing each flap to its maximum movement and each switch will light up as the relevant flap is operated.  I haven't tried it when the fault was present to see if it cleared it though.
