Middle to left hand side of the car at the front.

No noises over bumps etc? It could just be the fact the front going up and down which I would suspect arb bushes. No springs snapped?

Nope, no other bangs or clunks just that one. Its bugging me now lol. It doesnt do it when i set off just when i touch the brake pedal. If i touch the brake pedal it will clunk

Think a video is needed

touch the brakes or apply a normal amount of braking force?

have you jacked it up and given the front wheels a good shake to see if anything is loose?

Doesnt matter if i dab the pedal or stamp on it still does it. Yep had both wheels off

I had exactly this on another car.

It's the brake pads moving in the caliper.

Some aftermarket pads are sometimes a wee bit smaller width wise. Hence, when you brake, the pads grip the disc and then move that little bit within the caliper, and 'clunk' against the caliper.

It's actually not a problem as such - but if it bothers you, then get some new pads.

Never thought of that ray. Certainly worth me looking into though thanks

Looks like you were correct ray. Been underneath again with a bar and no movement in the suspension/wishbones etc.. But the rear brake pad on the passenger front moves about 2/3mm in the carrier and using the small crow bar i can get it making the noise it makes while driving only not as loud. Looks like some new pads

It sounds like the caliper is starting to seize. The piston should come out far enough to take up any slack.

Caliper, happend to me when i upgraded the breakes on me 1990 astra gte, didnt torque them properly and the whole caliper was loose and knocking around lol

Many moons ago mind
