Somebody told me that of I fit a VAG sat nav to my octavia Vrs 2008 it would drain my battery?? Is this tru?? Also are the sat nav antennas that you can get on ebay good enough for the signal?

Being a 2008 model you should be alright. It's down to the CAN Gateway which they upgraded mid-2007.

If it turns out your is a problem, there is modified firmware you can apply to the Columbus (not the Amundsen+) to overcome this.

Have a search in the ICE section of this forum for more information, links to firmware, etc.

Yes, the eBay GPS antenna are just fine.
