Ocatvia III Elegance 4x4 RRP tyres / wheels

Featured Replies

As ThePlumber has written above, it comes with 205/55 R16. I have asked the dealer on numerous occasions as to WHY exactly we have this limit. So far no answers other than "factory orders" which is kinda annoying.

So please if somebody has fitted different wheels on O3 4x4 RRP or knows why bigger wheels cant be fitted, be so kind to share with the rest of us :)

Niall post #20 is running 17" rims and tyres on his RRP equipped SE, which were swapped off an Elegance without issue.

Regard as to why the factory only allow 15 or 16" wheels with the RRP, then I can only assume they see the wider lower profile tyres fitted to 17 or 18" rims, as much less suitable for rough or non tarmac roads and therefore owners opting for the RRP will be wanting function over style.

TP

17s seem perfectly functional to me.........

Loving have a red car BTW!

ok now I'm jelaous :) so you put 17 wheels on the RRP, what is the tyre size? Any changes in how the car rides?

My 2.0TDi 4x4 Estate (with RRP) also came with 205/55R16 91V Continental PremiumContact. I am not dissatisfied with the tyres - they are very progressive and controllable - but I suspect there may be grippier alternatives in the wet. I might try SportContact 5s next time.

Standard 17s so they're 225/45 R17 and the same circumference and diameter as 205/55 R16s - Certainly improves the look IMHO and fills the arches better. As I've had them from day 1 with the car I've no idea what difference they make, but the car corners well and seems nice and smooth and not bone-shakingly jarring!

During winter I'll be a bit higher off the deck running steels and 205/60 R16s (which were only a season old on the Scout and a better match diameter wise for 225/55 R17). I had them on it for last winter without issue (unsurprisingly).

Niall

Thanks for sharing. As you mention that you have them from day 1, do you mean your dealer allowed it?

Cuz mine doesnt!

Not quite. They had another customer who wanted 16s on his Elegance and I wanted 17s on my SE, they simply joined the dots and did the swap at no cost to either myself or the other customer.

Was obviously very pleased!

Niall

Photos will be highly appreciated :) !

No action shots, but here she is in her unwashed state yesterday. Gives you the general gist of how it all looks (better than 16s IMHO).

Okay, so I said a farewell to the beloved Scout this morning and the new 4x4 elegance arrived. I can now anser my original question - it has come with Pirelli 225/45/17 tyres.

Just out of interest the new car is elegance spec, with rough road package, winter pack (for the windscreen and not the heated seats - honest!) and the full size spare wheel, which interestingly is on a 16" rim.

So the new car is not as 'chunky' looking as the Scout but it's still a great looking car and is slighlty more jacked up than I was expecting, so I'm pretty pleased with it.

octsco congrats on your new ride :) So there's the second Octy 3 with RRP and 17'' wheels after Niall's?

We will of course expect some photos :) !

what do you think of the car now you have had it a few days....I was going to order the same car as you but I am still waiting to see the scout in the flesh ,,,,,

Okay, thre days in and nearly 500 miles on the clock - it's going great. I like the new 2.0l diesel engine (150hp), the elegance spec is a step up from the old scout. I've had it up some forest tracks and across a field, so far I don't notice any difference between it and the scout as far as traction etc goes. Whilst it is a few mm lower than the old scout, it's not that much lower.

So after three days, I'm really impressed with it - pic attached.
