newbie,,,, Monte pulling left?

Featured Replies

Yep seen the yeti they have one there but with a house move that has turned into a money pit am a bit restricted and need to pinch myself with what we can afford. Going to the dealer tomorrow to have another look they have a skoda rapid and next door a VW Golf to look at. We are in Totnes now but used to live in Croyde then Georgeham lots to miss about N Devon people are much more chilled out. You can walk Barnstaple and always see someone you know, also here they tailgate and constantly overtake like their lives depend on it. I know Connor at Skoda Barnstaple and dad who has a garage in Georgeham.

Final update re aborted Fabia Monte Carlo purchase is that I went back to dealers and purchased a little Rapid connect with 300 miles on the clock feel much happier than did with the Monte  carlo ok not an octavia granted but mainly for about town driving. And just as I was leaving a customer arrived in his vehicle looking fed up and frustrated what was he driving? A Fabia Monte Carlo.

Mal,

Croyed to Totnes..........

You'll be back.

ps Try and enjoy your Rapid...

Ha ha!  wont show your post to the wife she wants to come back already.

If you thought Barnstaple has traffic problems, you'll now think differently.

We have friends in Newton Abbot, and that is horrendous enough.

Have you managed to get out with your new car yet......hows it going?

Picked up my 2012 Monte last night and it dosen't pull to the left at all, i started to read the posts after i had done the deal and befor i picked it up ! so started to wonder if i had made a mistake but so far so good.

It does have 4 pretty new conti's on though so may alredy have been sorted , did the com with the dunlops from new?

Get it to the dealer sap, as long as it's under warranty.

This is a fault. It needs correcting.

Properly aligned cars do not pull. Full stop.

Tyres only mask the problems, the fault is still there.

After 3,000 miles the new zeros fitted wore on the inner edges and caused further problems.

Skoda dealer again fitted new tyres. I was not prepared to replace tyres every 3,000 miles when the car went out of warranty, so rejected it.

Everyone who has steering pull, get it sorted now. You have been warned.

Carlo you are right, there is to much info re this problem. I was reading the warranty and "tracking was not covered"  although they said they fixed the problem by changing the tyres I was concerned that 6 months down the line the problem may again appear and I would end up back and forth to the dealership. The Skoda Rapid is certainly not an Octavia but it growls along with a little bit of punch for a vehicle that is only 86ps. The logic in changing was that the Octavia started reaching the point where it would need money spent i.e major service belt/pump change; it had also developed a bit of steering play and a noise when on hard lock. Also the boot had a leaky seal and trouble with the airbag light. I got what I considered a good trade in for it especially as it was tainted goods having been a used by me as a taxi in North Devon and had what I would call fair wear and tear.
