Central locking problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have an old 54 plate Fabia Estate 1.9tdi and it developed lots of little faults but kept running it on a shoe string as the engine is brilliant for the distances I cover. I have put up with the ABS light coming on after 20minutes driving and the electric windows not working but now I have found that occasionally the central locking goes crazy and will lock and unlock like a machine gun and nothing I do can make it stop till it wants to, usually 10-15 secs. I could cope with that but now the car has taken to unlocking the drivers door, always during the day but again I can't figure it out. The alarm is still active just the door unlocked. Guess its related but an intermittent fault couldn't be duplicated for the guy I got to have a look at it. Does anyone have any ideas on a fix. cheers for reading.

Probably the solder on the microswitches
