Octy III Dashmount bracket. Anyone fitted one?

Featured Replies

Not any help to you at all, but I've got one of these ready for when the car turns up. I think the position is better and no permanent fixing needed.

Could imagine it's a pain if you need to trail wires from this position though.

Tend to go for the Brodit options too; never had to venture into the permanent fixing or self taper screw!

Expensive at times - but Brodit has always done a decent job IMO.

The dashmount bracket does say using the self-tapper (if needed) just to help stabilise, not that it's required. But it still looks like it'd be a pain for your passenger in that position?

The Brodit mounts are cheap. The holders are damned expensive though! :D

Fair comment

I have two Brodit pro clips mounted above the radio unit (they cover the central blowers mostly).

Very good, very stable and no holes needed!

Hmm. I already have a brodit iphone mount to use. Didn't realise brodit also did car specific adapters. Will take a look.

Thanks folks!

Thanks. The cable trailing thing will be annoying though I think, unless there's a way of securing it away from the screen. I need to run a wire to the USB socket.

This does seem a better solution than the dashmount though - it does poke into the passenger area a bit too much.

Haven't with phone mount. Just one of those silicone sticky mats on dash against the window pillar. Then ran a long cable under speedo and over steering columb, retained with some things I found locally. I get in car,Bluetooth on,plug in, throw phone on mat, awayvI go. All numbers in radio system, and this way not tempted to read texts while driving (ilegal).Just use window mount for occasional use of copilot on the phone.

Instead of going for a phone specific mount to go on the Pro Clip, why not consider some Velcro on the back of the phone and also on the Pro Clip?

Obviously it doesn't auto charge but does allow easy mounting for multiple phones.
