Earlier today I was poking around under the drivers side of my dash as for the last week I have had this really annoying light metallic rattle sound coming from that area at certain RPM's. Anyway when I looked up there was this thing sort of balanced next to the accelerator pedal, not attached to anything.

 

So, can anyone tell me what it is? Maybe its responsible for my rattle lol

 

Had a look on my car and i cant see anything that looks like that

Right go back out to ya car look under where you found it and look above it at the cover that goes under the dash it's a clip off there you will know when you see it

Thanks guys. Will take a look in the morning and put it back in its rightful place

Yeah it holds up the back of the under dash tray. There is one at both ends.

Mines missing both thats probably why it hangs low :/
