Hi all little confused to which oil I need to use I've bought Castor Edge turbo diesel 5W-40 Fully synthetic it states on the back for VW 502 00/505 00/ 505 01 my log book states VW 507 is this OK?

I'm sure 5W40 is fine. ( just a little thicker than 5W30 )

5w30 is what I use and that a 507 spec.

However if you have a dpf I think you might need to use 507 spec.

    I'm assuming it's a diesel VRS you have and you do need spec 507 so don't use what you have.
