Folding rear seat

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any accurate information about the folding rear seats. My 54 reg 2.8 Elegance doesn't have them but it seems that others do. I had to order the car from the factory last October so I would have imagined that it would have been up to date at the time. I also have the Easy Cargo option, perhaps that prevents the folding seats. By the way, the Easy cargo looks great on paper, not as practical in real life.

thanks,

Patrick

I have just bought a 54 plate elegance and it has the folding seats but it's actually an 05 car. Maybe that's the difference.

Believe they changed the beginning of this year (ish)

Mines an 05 and has them

yep..mine got em to...55 plate elegance

Any pictures of the seats folded in an elegance would be interesting if anyone can take some pictures - saw the seats with the locks at the top in an edition 100 at the delears, but when quizing the salesman about the folding seats he wasn't forthcoming in showing me them.

I'll try and get some shots of mine today. The thing to note though is that the squab doesn't move. The back just folds forward on to the seat, or at least it does on mine, so it's not perfectly flat. The rear space is so big though that you don't have to remove the rear head rests to get it to drop behind the front seats, unlike my old Octy. The fixed squab could be a heated seat thing or maybe it's because the folding seats were an afterthought. A big mistake by Skoda if you ask me, along with not making an estate or a hatchback. Mind you, that does all help towards the exclusivity that driving one brings. I also got told by a dealer that because the Superb wasn't the biggest seller when it first was launched that a lot of them sat at the docks and the best way to know you had an 05 car when that's what you were paying for, was to ensure it had folding seats. That also could have been a load of c**p to get me to buy the car, I mean I wouldn't trust a car salesman as far as I could etc etc.
