New Springs

Featured Replies

After reading good things about the PI springs I'm looking at having these fitted to lower the car by around 30mm just had a price for fitting the springs fronts around £80 and rears £40 also asked about a geomatory check too been quoted in the region of £40-£150 for this. I will be purchasing the springs myself for around £105 any thoughts on these prices for fitting and for the springs themselves.

I've just bought a set of Pi springs as well for £105 off eBay.my mates a mechanic and is going to fit them for around £80 when he has the time, but stated that a geometry check wasn't needed unless u want to tweek it for racing as by just dropping the height shouldn't affect the camber.i know that a geo check with my local independent garage who are very good is around £50....

Thanks Nix, just had new tyres fitted so thought once springs are done would get everything checked out but maybe price for geo check I have been quoted is steep

Just so you're aware it won't lower 30mm only 10mm

Looking at ChrisVrS his looks lower than 10mm!

the vrs is lowered ~15mm out of the factory over the standard trim models. the PI springs will give you another 15mm however i think they give you a bigger drop than quoted looking at pictures posted from people who have them fitted already :)

i was going to go PI but then read some people have had them snap on them so went for H&R 35mm springs instead :)

fitting price sound reasonable as the front ones are a pain to do without all the proper tools

Pi spring state 30mm drop from standard vrs hight. Unlike other who quote from just standard octavia hight. I have 30mm pi springs on my vrs and they did exactly what they say on the tin.20140523_171834.jpg

if you can wait a week or two im taking mine off.. gutted really but im sick of bottoming out on my heavily speed-bumped estate and getting on and off my drive as i have a front splitter on too..

I can confirm these spring seriously drop you car and cannot get you hand in the front arch easily 30mm drop.

there only a few month old and £50 notes will buy them.

saying that ive just noticed yours is an estate so might be different part no.

Are they really catchin that much? We have the same springs and mines fine and there are speed bumps all over where i live. As long as i take my time over them im fine. There must be some bloody big humps round there! Lol. Are you just goin back to standard?

Its the plastics underneath tbh . my drives steep and scrapes the splitter massively in and out..we have them speed bumps that you can miss if you hit them right but underneath gets it with just me in . shockingly bad if I got rear passengers . yep going back to standard this week :(

Shame. I just go over speed bumps with one side of the car. If i try and get a wheel either side it does scrape.
