It only works when the headlights are set to auto and it's dark enough outside.. Just figured this out as was wondering why mine weren't working!

I dont have auto lights. I think for autolights you have to tick bit 2 in byte 12. So it will not work without light sensors?

Does it work using your headlights if you untick bit3 on the second picture?

I had xenons on my pre-fl octavia and I seem to remember I had to use the headlights for CH/LH as the fog lights wouldn't enable.

No, it doesnt.

Do you have the RLS? Without auto lights but with the RLS leaving home lights work off the sensor with the lights off but coming home lights only work when the light switch is left on (not sidelights). Having the switch left on overrides the sensor for the LH lights though. This is on a pre FL car.

Sorry, I am a newbie in this. RLS? My car is a Skoda Octavia Vrs tdi with dsg transmission on 10 plate. Is it a FL or a pre FL car? Anyway I have tried it with the lights swicht left on but no luck.

RLS = rain/light sensor.

Do the headlights wrap around into the wings? if so it's a facelift.  I should think it is a facelift on a 10 plate.

Also try ticking bit 2 on byte 12.  Is there another bit that relates to "personalisation"?

Ok, its a FL model :)  I have tried to tick bit 2 on byte 12 but the same.

So you don't have the RLS then.

no. no light or rain sensor. i have tried with switched off lights, i left the switch on middle position (in this case the led DRL are on all the time), and with switched on lights. If the lights are left switched on and I remove the key they are turning off.

As you have a FL car, which has a BCM rather than separate Central Convenience and Central Electrics controllers the coding is different between your car and mine, so I'm not sure what to suggest.

I would go through all the bytes and double check you haven't missed anything.

I have checked everything 10times, tried different combinations with no luck. Anyway thank you very much for your help.  Is here someone who succesfully activated this option on a FL car?

I activated it on my fl vrs but it has xenons with the rain/light sensor. Light switch has to be left on auto and only works if it deems it dark enough. I coded mine to have the foglights come on instead to save the life of the xenons. Can't remember what the coding was but found it on a thread on the forum.

Thanks Bogwoppit. I found something what I probably missed. I found it under the second link:  coming home is definitely possible to activate without the light sensor but it requires dipping the headlights once for them to come on for the designated time. I will try it tommorrow.

+1

i too coded it so it uses the foglights for CH/LH.

i'm not so keen on having the xenons firing while the engine is off.

VCDS Coding:-

Coming Home Lights via foglights

Control Module  > [09] Central elec / Coding / Long coding helper / byte 17/ bit 3, tick the box.

Exit

Do it

what is also interesting is looking at your maxidot image zoli888777, yours says "system on", whereas mine says "switched on".  This is mine.....
