I have a fabia vRS but have just bought the wife a octy to runaround in and also for me to play in  :giggle:

My mate bought this last year completely standard. He wanted to have big power but with standard looks so started pricing all the bits up when he came across a black vRS claiming close to 300bhp. He bought this but this was on coilovers with rs4 wheels, big mouth bumper, wrc spoiler, porsche front brakes etc and while i loved it he didn't like the look of it so all the good bits were put onto the red one.

Unfortunately the porsche callipers didn't fit under the spiders so they got left on the black one as he didn't want it to look modified  :'(  So both cars were put on a ramp and the red one now has bigger downpipe, sports cat that's been gutted as it was rattling, miltek non resonated cat back system, carbonio intake, forge tip, forge 007p dump valve, forge fmic and some awesome piping. When they inspected the turbos they were different and as the black one was quite rapid the turbos got swapped. It was then booked in at jabbasport for a custom remap and in the time waiting to go the black one was sold. it was only when it was mapped the guy there pointed out it had a ko3 turbo on and that they must of took the ko3s off and put this on  :wall:  :wall:  :wall: as the black one had been sold there wasn't alot he could do. I'm sure it made about 220bhp on the rollers but I need to get the dyno print out off him.It's also got a nuespeed RARB too. Anyway he lost interest after that and sold it to a older bloke who then part ex'd it against a van with him so he offered it to me cheap  :dance:

Overall it's a tidy car. The front tyres are bald so I've ordered 2 budgets to put me on for the time being. The hose from throttle body to the forge piping has collapsed

so a new silicone one has been ordered  :happy: and when I fit that I will clean the throttle body, check all the intercooler piping and also check the dump valve to make sure it's not leaking. The k&n needs a good clean too.

It's quite laggy and my mate said it's not as quick as when he first sold it but I'm thinking the collapsed pipe is the problem here so fingers crossed this returns it to it's former performance as I imagine this is restricting it alot!! I've also ordered a lambda spacer as the EML is on due to the decat and I've ordered 4 chrome indicator bulbs. I'm hoping all this gets delivered by the end of thew week so I'll fit everything at the weekend. At the min it feels quite wallowy at the front but the front tyres are bald so I will see how it goes on new tyres, it could also be down to the RARB as I've been told fitting the 58mm neuspeed bar without uprating the front can make the rear grip too much and unsettle the front so if that's the case I will sell the RARB as it won't be driven particularly hard to warrant uprating the front one.

I was wanting to wide mouth it but the wife has said it is not being lowered so I'm quite liking the idea of the stealthy vRS where it looks standard but has good power. Not sure what to do with the turbo, I think my mate at the scrappy will sell me a ko3s for £85 but I'll see how it is with the new pipe on as it pulls well now it's just abit laggy and doesn't feel like it's quite boosting as much as it should so I can't wait to see if it improves :)

The wheels could do with quick spray over as there are marks on them and the callipers need a freshen up but I think they will have to go red like my fabia ones as I can't find the smooth green anywhere :( This will be done at a later date as I've got enough to do with these bits and i think I will service it too. Don't want to plough too much money in it changing turbos as it is a cheap run around for the wife but if it should break spectacularly I could break it and get more than what I paid for it back so just going to enjoy it and do cheap mods although I don't think there's alot more I can do apart from paint the grill surround etc. It has already got LED lights and uprated bulbs in it. I need to clean the interior in it as the white is abit mucky.

Looks loads better so all that's left to do looks wise is colour code the grill and get a new skoda badge and then refurb the wheels silver and new centre caps.

I was going to fit my decent pioneer stereo into it as it had a shocking fat ugly CD player in and get a double din one for me but then could t be bothered buying a expensive CD player for me when she only potters about so I took her kenwood CD player out of her old fiesta and fitted it. Looks quite oem so will just leave it as it's more than good enough for her :D

I must admit I love how the octy looks and the soundtrack of it but I took the furby to skeg today after it being parked up for a week needing a alternator and I loved it, can't beat a well tuned diesel :D

I'm going to sort out that collapsed pipe and see how it goes then. If I put a ko3s on will it need another remap? He paid £450 at jabba sport when it went and the wife won't let me spend that again lol

lol not a big fan of the fabia :no: do fancy a 130 octy

 

wouldnt of thought so,i didnt need to when i was going for a  shark stage 2 on my old  ko3 agu wagon.

Went down the brother in laws garage last night to fit the throttle body pipe, lambda spacer and front tyres. All the ramps were taken so started on the hose. What a nightmare!! The more I looked into it the more work I saw. Ended up with all the front end off and having to cut some of the crash bar as this was making the pipe bend at a funny angle which is why it didn't line up properly with the throttle body hose. Had to trim all the piping down too as it was too long.

Finally got it all done so it's not tight up against anything but can't say I'm impressed with this forge kit if it's a direct fit with the way those pipes were. Anyway all done and built up after about 2 1/2 hours down there messing about with it.

Cleaned the throttle body while I had the hose off it too.

Just revving it on the spot you can hear the turbo start to spool which it didn't before really then I let it warm up and took it for a blast and it drives so much better. It's laggier than my fabia I'm used to but a lot better than before, you can hear it building boost straight away now and if you start to accelerate from 30ish in 4th it starts to go whereas before it didn't want to so was well worth doing :) need to desperately fit my tyres before I properly try it out as they're horrible to drive on, if you go across a drain it feels like it's sliding off it!! Will be doing tyres and lambda spacer on Monday night and also seeing what the annoying rattle is on it, sounds like exhaust so will look at that.

Drives so much better now and I can use it in the wet now :)

Also fitted my lambda sensor spacer to cure the eml from the decat

Hasn't made any difference the light came back on :( any suggestions as to what else I can do?? Still need to check my dump valve and see if it needs a service but it's coming along nicely

I use old engine oil on it and it lasts for ages and takes literally minutes to do. Not got any more pics as it was dark when I'd finished doing everything else.

I can't rotate it the other way as it's a sports cat so flares out and it would be against the shell of the cat :( if it was a decat pipe I'd be able to. I will try some of the metal wool when I next get it on a ramp and see if that helps. It's no major problem having the eml on but was hoping I could get it off

Over the past few weeks when it gets warm it has a rattle off boost. I'm thinking when the oil gets hot the turbo has play and is rattling but as soon as it starts to spool and is on boost it's fine. I've not really bothered to diagnose it as I've got a ko3s for £60 (I'm running a ko3 at the min :( ) so I'll put this on and hopefully it will cure it but if not while it's on the ramp I'll check other stuff but at least it will have the correct turbo on :)

It's a unsilenced one, the vrs uses a 052 which has the silencer but then there's a 053 which is what I've got which is off of a aum 150 engine and a 058 is for the golf anniversary. All have a 85nm actuator on and from what I've read the 150 can be mapped up the same as a 180 when you've changed the exhaust etc. I love the sound of the ko3 that's on it now spooling so I'm hoping this unsilenced ko3s will sound just as good :D

Hopefully get it fitted this week or at the weekend. Going to get new oil and filter and check the oil pick up at the same time. Anything else apart from gaskets worth getting?

Gave it a clean today, used that auto glym shampoo and it came up like if polished it :)

I then turned my attention to the seats and door cards, they were pretty mingling to be fair :(

So I used some auto glym interior cleaner as I had good results with it when I had standard fabia vrs seats before going to leather. Look loads better so I'm pleased with it to say it only cost £6.49

Need to sort out a oil and filter and some gaskets and get my turbo on. Will probably do it next weekend as I'm working away most of next week but not in too much of a rush as the wife only potters around town in it.

Sad day today the octy has gone :( one of my big customers has gone bust and I don't know how it will affect me so rather than my wife running this and putting £30+ week I've swapped it with her younger brother for a 54 plate corsa Sri cdti which I will use for work and the wife is now having my fabia as it makes sense us having 2 diesels. Were both absolutely gutted even though the corsa is probably worth more but we just loved the octy. I'd like to say we would like to buy it back if things go ok but he will end up shagging it up completely :D
