Need help with my Felicia

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am Mike

I have just bought my first Skoda - a year 2000 W-reg Felicia 1.3 Classic.

It says 1.3 MPI on top of the engine.

I have only had it one day.

So far, the temperature guage hasn't moved.

I have been on 30 mile journeys and it never rises above the needle-stop that the needle rests on when switched off.

I am tempted to buy a temperature sensor, but my parts supplier says there are two to choose from. One with a green strip and one with a yellow strip.

Which one is right?

I've looked at mine and its just all black (or maybe just dirty).

Is there some way to test the guage is working before I spend 20 pounds on a sensor?

There are 4 wires going into the sensor.

Which two do I short out to test the guage?

Apologies for posting this in the wrong topic folder. I couldn't find a "Need help with my Felicia" folder.

Thanks

Mike

I had also posted this under Classic Skoda Owners and it has been answered there.

Thanks anyway.

I have to say after two days of Skoda ownership I am impressed, and that's not bad when you consider its 14 years old.

It had a fifth of a tank of petrol in it when I picked it up and I've done nearly 90 miles. The petrol gauge has barely moved.

I am used to a (recently deceased) 21 year old Mercedes C class that drank petrol so fast you could almost see the needle move!

it could be a themo stat but as for the wires two go to ecu and two to the temp gauge and it should be a yellow one...
