DS3 - sound generator or naturally sporty?

Featured Replies

Heard the radio advert for the Citroën DS3 today with "signature led Xenon headlights" (isn't it either xenons or Led, or are the Xenon filled led?)

Anyway, it sounded quite throaty and sporty, and a bit like a Scooby.

I'm assuming they're fitted with sound generators?

No sound generators

I've no idea what you're talking about :wonder: ,  noisy lights?

Lol, no the engine noise ;)

I've heard that too. It sounded pretty good to me!

I quite like the new citroens. I especially like the DS5 Hybrid 4. Sat in one at the gadget show and it was like a spaceship inside!

Maybe xenon main beams but LED drls or decorative headlights?

Edit. Brainwave. Why not xenon dipped beam and LED high beam? Would solve all the problems with separate xenons (that around bi-xenons)

Are Sound Generators not for making them sound sporty inside the car, ie a False sound, or first the car is Sound Proofed then the Noise Enhanced or Faked.?

Sound Engineering & Exhaust Systems surely makes them sound like they do to those outside of the car.

This is what the "Xenon lights with LED light signature" are:

"Each headlight houses three LED modules and a Xenon module combine to create a wide, uniform beam for greater visibility when driving at night. These headlamps house integrated sequential indicators - a world's first."

"Adding to this look, are the LED DRLs in the front air intakes  along with the already standard 3d -effect LED rear lights, the car makes a striking  statement on the roads today. Let's be honest about it: this car pops!"

You do look like a NHS Home Visitor or Social Worker (Female) in your Lease car when driving them though.

Haha. True.

I love the DS5 though!

What i love is the Unmarket Police Scotland ones.

There are some Covert & Unmarked cars that you know to look for, even in the dark you know which lights to look out for.

But even though you can tell the Citroens easily, its not a car that many expect to be used.

DS3 sports are great cars. Look especially good from the front and side, rear not so great.

We love ours :sun:

Most police can be spotted as they typically disable DRLs

Do not all DRL's disable when you are using Headlights?

Maybe they know that people think they disable DRL's in the daytime, so leave them on.   Feet for dancing head for thinking.

Sort of agree, but they're a bit pricey tho'.

What should we be comparing them too?

I nearly bought an Ds5 hybrid , but then the R36 came up

I mean there are no DRL's, no lights at all unless the headlights are on.

The majority of police vehicles round these parts have them set to off, so unmarked cars are pretty easy to spot being the cleanest ones on the road as well.

Round your way is not Scotland though.

Here Toe rags and Scallywags are clued up, and they would say,

'there is that covert police car that drives with the DRL's disabled, what a plonker'.

I find marked ones easy to spot because of the Blue & Yellow Markings and the lights on the roof.

Yeah that's the model I like... but £31,000! Ouch!

Unmarked but then you knew what it should have said
