I removed the glovebox to install bury bluetooth unit.

I disconnected the key operated airbag switch in the glovebox I started the car to check the

bluetooth was working and the airbag light came on, and now it's back together the light

remains on and maxidot says "fault airbag".

2010 fl octavia estate 1.8tsi dsg 7speed.

does this just need to be reset or is it more difficult.

Also who has vcds in Southampton

might need a reset through VCDS, have you made sure the plug on the back of the switch is properly on? may have pushed a pin back or something.

 

in future dissconnect the battery negative before unplugging stuff

I have checked plug and it's ok.

I needed the battery connected to power the bluetooth unit.

If you turn the ignition on with any airbag plug disconnected it will put the light up on the dash.

You now need someone with VCDS to turn the light out.

There is a map of VCDS owners in my signature.

Unfortunately, the airbag light will always need to be reset with VCDS or similar even if you have fixed the cause of the light coming on in the first place.
