How are you/did you run yours in?

Featured Replies

Sorry to bore you all with this but we have a thread about this in the Citigo section.

How are you running yours in?

Normal driving?

By the handbook?

Well exercising the engine/gearbox?

On my Citigo I drove it as intended. Taking it up to over 4500 rpm in gears with a mixture of speeds. No oil consumption either.

I did the same with my Octy tdi.

Any preferences?

Just drove mine to hand book for 1st 300 miles    then normally.  To think there are almost 3 500 mies on it after it's fisrst year

Not even sure if mine has been run in yet.

Drove as normal but kept an eye on keeping the revs down for the first few hundred miles. Noticed with the engine being tight, that you had to hold the gears that bit longer than usual, otherwise the engine sounded if it was labouring slightly; with 1.2k now done the engine has now freed up some.

TP

Bought mine second hand, assuming its an ex rental and therefore was driven hard by many people. It's now done over 16000 miles with the last few done nice and gently by myself and the wife :) I do like the arrow that tells you when to change...
