I'm new and have joined here, as I look for an MK2 (facelift) Octavia vRS Tdi.

I was wondering if you guys had any tips and advice on what to look for when buying. I haven't set myself in stone whether manual or DSG so any info would be welcomed. I'm looking to get a 10/11 plate with no more than 55000 on the clock and flexible on hatch or estate.

I've just bought a CR170 DSG facelift model and I'd highly recommend the DSG, it's effortless driving..

A couple of things to look for from recent experience, check it's had a cambelt and water pump if it's 4 years old or more, also the DSG oil/filter change at 40k. Check the wear on the tyres, some came from the factory with camber issues. Pull out the spare wheel or compressor/sealant and check for water ingress.

I'd recommend the xenons , columbus and maxidot as good options to look for. Best of luck!
