Rear left door won't open. Octavia vrs.

Featured Replies

It's locked ****. Won't open. When I use the handle inside to open the door, it pops the lock pin up but then when u release the handle, the lock pin pops down.

I've tried locking and unlocking from the drivers door and the key fob, but no joy, lock pin won't even pop up.

Any ideas?

Usually caused by a faulty microswitch in the lock mechanism. Very common issue on mk1 Octy's.

i had the same problem with one of my rear doors, i used the old fashioned give it a clout lol, guy from audi told me this was a common fault on some of the audi models and they always tried hitting the inside of the door panel with a rubber mallet beside the lock whilst using the fob to open and lock the doors .. was a bit iffy about doing it but i have to admit it did work, once i got door unlocked i stripped the door down and gave it a good spray with wd40 and it has worked fine for the last 18 months. not saying this is same problem as you but it is worth ago

Open the front passenger door and you can get to the wiring that runs threw the rubber tube thing to rear door pull the rubber condom thing back to reveal the wiring and check if its broken. Also very common problem

I got a similar problem that comes and goes. But all doors without a key won't open. I have to pull out the fuse that also powers the interior light, then replace, then they all work again, for a while depending on its mood.
