removing rear seats

Featured Replies

how do you remove the rear seat backs i found the clips one the outside edge but how do you get the out once the ends are free

Having freed the outside edge, the inner mount is just a pin, so you can pull the seat up slightly and outwards. However the fixing for the centre seat belt is a pain, and needs unbolting. Bit of a 3-handed job to get it back, too.

Perhaps "pin" was the wrong word? The inner end of the seat has a spigot about 25mm in diameter which connects into a hole in the base of the car - pull the seat back outwards laterally after unlatching the outer end. The rebolting of the seat belt is fiddly but relatively easy once you get everything lined up.

Whatever you do' date=' you'll probably scratch the plastic trim on the wheel arch...:( [/color']

When I first removed my seats, it was easy to unclip them out the fixing near the door, but they were WELL stuck on the "T" piece which they pivot on. :( Took loads of tugging and wobbling back and forward, to free them.

But once its been done about 20 times they simply slide on and off the T now

And I've scratched the plastic trim David mentions :D Given up bothering to take care now. Its well past that.

I had no problems taking mine out.
