Belt tensioner pulley

Featured Replies

Hi just an idle question before I lay out money. Is it possible to replace the wheel on the fanbelt/alternator tensioner without having to buy the complete unit and does anyone have the part number for the plastic wheel that the belt backs on to? Thanks in advance for any help.

yes ,you can buy only the pulley without the tensioner

Any decent auto parts shop can get you one

There is no OE part number for the wheel but on speciffic aftermarket auto parts programs is available

if it's not shot it can be regreased --remove bearing shroud with fine needle and pop back

Sorted, but in this neck of the woods no one was willing to supply the pulley on it's own,and believe me they were both shot. The tensioner must have dropped it's wheel and the belt broke and lashed the living daylights out of the idle pulley. Thanks for the replies

where about are you located? Id be surprised if you cant find somewhere that will supply it.

I'm in Donegal, and Letterkenny is the nearest.I rang several auto factors there and Strabane and it was all or nothing.I have replaced the tensioner with one from a breakers but I'm going to see if I can find a pulley to have back up in the future.
