My Octavia 1600cc makes a new sound after starting the engine even before driving like this (hrrr, hrrrr, hrrrr) with slight pauses in between. This sound increases when I turn on the air-condition.

 

Any advice.

Is it also worse when you work the steering? If so, I'd suspect the auxilliary drive belt.

I have a similar new sound on my vRS too. When parked with the engine running and climate on. There is a really unpleasant loud screeching sound after about 2 minutes. Could this be the auxilliary drive belt too?

Could this be linked to the random temperatures being output from the climate control system? I took it to my dealer who said there was nothing wrong :-/

Apparently I'm not the only one as well. I've come across a couple of other owners with the same problem. I'll check on Saturday and see what the dealership tells me.
