Accessing Web by different users in XP

Featured Replies

I've just upgraded to an ADSL router with built in modem, connected all the other machines (3 at last count) to it and after faffing arouind a bit they can all get surfing and see each other's shared folders, etc.

Now the strange bit, my wife's account cannot surf at all, even though I've checked the connections, LAN settings, etc, and they're all identical to mine (presumably because they're the same sub-program). I have to say that before we upgraded to the router she had to get online in my account, then log me off and go back into her own account, whereupon all was fine.

I've done a workaroiund, started a new account called "Mama 2" and it goes straight onto the web without a hint of a problem. I suppose I can just copy over her favourites, etc, but would like to know why this has all happened.

Any thoughts lads?

have you checked to see if its using a different hardware profile? could the network card or connection be disabled under her profile?

Limited account versus an admin account (yours)?
