Fuel filter removal

Featured Replies

I've just done a service on my octavia today. All was good until I got to the fuel filter, I couldn't work out how to remove the pipes from the filter. I didn't want to go at them to heavy handed as I didn't want to end up breaking them. I couldn't find any info on the net at the time. Has anyone got any tips for doing the job or a step by step guide?

Is it a diesel? If so, you don't need to remove the pipes. Just undo the torx bolts and carefully (very carefully) lift up the top.

Sorry, I should of mentioned that. It's a petrol. 2.0 TFSI VRS if that makes any difference.

I replaced mine a few months ago,all i did was carefully use a little screwdriver to release the clips then pull the pipes off,i had to drill the head off the filter clamp retaining screw as it was to corroded to undo, then removed the remaining thread with some mole grips then fitted a new screw.

Thanks, il give this a go

Changed mine a few weeks ago, ended up snapping one of the pipes due to previous owner using superglue to secure the pipe to the filter. Cheers mate.
