Featured Replies

had a great day on sunday ran all the wiring for my soon to be 'system'. just wondering if anyone has run speaker wire throught to the doors of a furby vrs?

currently it sits behind the headunit but when i gaet round to fitting comps i will pull this through.

anyone give me any tips?

thanks :D

I didn't bother... I just used the stock cabling when I installed my new speakers in the front doors.

I did it. It's quite tricky. You have to go round the edge of the white plastic door connectors. You can get some 16-18AWG through there. You have to take off the side kick panel bits - they should pop off with a yank. You can then see the said connectors. Pull the black corrigated rubber tubes off from where the door connects to the car and they you have access to both sides of the connectors. Then you just keep trying to feed it through whilst loosing lots of skin from your hands! The rest is fairly simple but I'd recommend starting with the passenger side as the drivers is a pain.

have you got any pics of it opened up? ie the plastic connector?

going to run 12 awg but want to do it all at the same time : deadening, baffles, wiring and install speakers all whilst the door cards off!

Stock cables are OK, so like many have, I just chocolate blocked to the Head Unit wiring, which then used original cables to go to the new woofer in the door. Hell of a lot easier to be honest....

I'll have to re-do this wiring at some point soon, as with my radio going back in, the comps are being powered by the head unit, not my Kenwood amp.... All will be sorted out soon though. :speaker:

No pics at the moment - sorry. I am not sure 12AWG will fit. Its quite a tight gap. I managed flat 16AWG.
