electric windows

Featured Replies

Looking for help please with my 57 reg fabia.

Spent hours trying all recommended options as per the many posts on this problem.

If I take out the fuses for electric windows for an hour--then start engine and replace fuses the electric windows will work for hundreds of miles. However if I stop and turn off the engine and lock the car when I return the electric windows are dead. If I want working windows for the return journey I have to repeat the procedure.  Looking for advice on which part to replace please

Replying to my own  previous [post.

Has anyone ever tried  to run a separate feed from the fuse box to the electric window switch so that the windows always work when the ignition is on.

I've got a similar problem now.  Neither window will work, but if I remove both fuses, start the car, then replace the fuses the passenger window works from the passenger door only.  The driver door control unit doesn't work.

If I switch the engine off and leave it a while neither window works.

So I went and bought a new drivers door 2 switch unit.  Makes no difference :-(

Any ideas?
