Think ive figured it i may of bought the wrong type i think this is a closed loop so am i right in thinkin it wont dump into the atmosphere?

Now ive found one of my old dump valves in my toy box cant remember wot its off no box how can i tell if it will work on the vrs?

Get a cai fitted as these engines hate atmospheric dump valves

Wots a cai ash?

Is that a genuine Forge 007P? They are recirculating, which is fine for our cars. However, a blue spring may be too strong for the vacuum to overcome (small pipe on top) in order to open the valve when you lift off the throttle.

But its not an atmospheric type no?

One thats fitted is not a 007 unit no

If your standard OEM diverter valve was working fine before you put that eBay one on, I'd swap it back over and, if all is OK, hoy the eBay one in the bin. The advert title says "Recirculating" and there are no outlets to the atmosphere, so it isn't an atmospheric type, no.

Nothing wrong with the oem plastic one

So an atmospheric unit wont work on this engine

So i cant have a whooosh ?

Cai is cold air intake get a s2000 air filter on it and ur standard recuirc valve back on and you will hear it

Ive had a k&n type cone filter on it before but found the engine wud not rev right so went back to standard air box ash

I found it to be pulling to much air for the engine to cope if i disconected the maf she would run and pull away fine

So your MAF is probably faulty

Had it changed made no difference tbh so just thought the maf couldnt cope with that much air

Do the n249 bypass and get a CAI and then youll have uber wooishing. I have standard airbox with the n249 bypass and thats pretty loud

N249?

Its an electronic vacuum valve that has some control over what the DV does. Google n249 bypass. When you bypass it the DV is louder and quicker to react.

That ebay you fitted are ****ttt. Stick to a standard one. And it must be recirculating otherwise your car will throw a tiss fit

ok found out wot this n249 bypass is

im unsure if i can do this is their anyone in shropshire area that has done this who can be paid off with beer and cakes??

Do i need to cap off the hard pipes or they ok open for now?sorry to jump on a thread

Its recommended to cap them off yeh. I used the bolts i removed from the res on too of the rocker cover to block them off.

No problem
