Climate Control Retro Fit

Featured Replies

Come across the Skoda Yeti climate control unit for sale and wonder if it would replace the air conditioning controls as a retro fit?

I know I'd need to replace the Facia to accommodate the unit but would it be plug and play in terms of the connectors?

I would seriously doubt it - I would imagine you would also need to fit the in-cabin temperature sensors & associated wiring loom & probably need a VCDS session to programme the car.

Not to mention the mechanical air flow control bits.

You need duct sensors, different air box (though I thought it could be done with a stock one), climatronic panel (the brains), wiring looms and power feed.

The only other thing you need is to connect the can-bus up (just loop onto any canbus hi/lo wires), and then enable it with vag-com.

Oh well, another idea out the window, don't fancy getting that involved for the sake of not having to turn a knob up or down!
