Mk 2FL vRS Bonnet refuses to open.

Featured Replies

Can't get the bonnet open on swmbos car, it's a problem with the cable, probably not dissimilar to issues already posted on here. I've tried going up underneath the car and removing the offside wheel arch liners etc but no joy. I cant release the lower grill to access the bonnet grill to remove as it need to be unclipped from behind. I did note one previous poster had a technican out who managed to open the bonnet without damage. Not sure it was a vRS though two options left, remove interior trim and try to yank on the cable further than the handle will pull it ( not hopeful on this option), or break out the grill to access and then get a new grill.

Any other helpful suggestions?

Ive found sometimes getting someone to press down on the bonnet whilst you pull the release lever works.

Tried all that, as mentioned, its a problem with the cable so it won't help, cheers anyway.

Did you manage to get this sorted as I have the same problem and now have a grille with huge holes where I've tried to get in and sort it out
