Best option for paint sealing

Featured Replies

I'm going to sort the paint chips out on the Yeti, but would like a bit of advice.

I don't have lots of spare time to layer up products and was wondering if there was a good product to seal over the repairs once done, then apply a decent wax?

I was looking at this product:

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/auto-finesse-tough-coat-cat12.html

Thanks guys :)

They have it here for £20 for the 500ml bottle. http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodspec&ref=&count=36&offset=36

Not a bad choice by all accounts, make sure your paintwork is clean and top with a good protection wax like Collinite 476 and you will be laughing.

Amazon have the 250ml bottle cheaper than Polished Bliss http://www.amazon.co.uk/Auto-Finesse-TC250-Tough-Sealant/dp/B00FYTYB0C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410768483&sr=8-1&keywords=auto+finesse+tough+coat

Brilliant, thanks :)

I've been using Menzerna Powerlock as a sealant recently.  It's very nice.  Going to be using it again this evening and expect to get really nice finish to the paintwork.

Get auto finesse power seal to go underneath it, it's a win win.

Power seal is great to use by machine too.

I use Collinite 476 as well and have to say it is a first class product. I have used it on my current Tiguan and my wife's Pug 2008 and have no stone chips at all and the rain just slides off it.

Application was so easy I enjoyed doing it! Honestly!

As good as Collinite is, it wont stop you getting stone chips

Thats just down to luck

Well it's good to know either my luck has changed or VW and Peugeot paint is more resilient than Honda.

It is..Honda paint is the worst youre likely to come across

Im detailing a Honda Jazz today..Im expecting a few problems with the thin soft paint

I usually start with a finishing pad and pight polish, even then it can marr as its worked

My last car was a Honda..I had it for 20 months

It was peppered with over 200 stone chips in that time

VAG paint, in contrast is a lot harder and more reisistant to chipping, but not bomb proof!

The only way to totally protec paintwork against chips is by a wrap like 'Ventureshield'
