New VRS, First Thoughts

Featured Replies

Well, i finally collected the car on monday, and have to say the car is living up to expectations.

Here are some things that have not been mentioned before in other reviews.

The front screen seems huge, like looking out of a truck screen. I then noticed how wide the car seems. You are not bumping elbows with the passenger. It looks like the front has deliberatly made big, but the rear and boot a bit smaller. Can't get my pc tool box behind the drivers seat, where as I can on the wifes Alto.

The ride seems as solid as my old golf. I thought it would be bouncing all over the place, but not so.

Loads of pockets for change, mobile and other crap. just found the one on the drivers side dash. Pen dont fit in the pen holder. Good idea though.

Steering wheel feels chunky, reducing fatigue on long journeys and the spoke are set at just the right angle to hook your thumbs in.

The aerial is a bit long and is catching on the garage door DOH.

All in all I think it was deffinitly worth the money.

Cheers

Lee

 Glad you like the car, i've had mine since June and it STILL lives up to my expectations!

I did notice that it has loads of head room. The rear leg room can be a bit cramped if you have the front seats pushed back.

Have you found the nice little side pockets on the front seats yet?!! :D Good for putting your mobile in & then forgetting about it when you get out!!! ;)

My aerial always used to catch on the top of the garage!

But then i had eibach lowering springs fitted and it doesn't do it anymore :cool:

There is probably close to a foot above my head when i sit in the fabia, i almost wish they made the whole car slightly less tall.

I did, but have bought covers from hatchbag as I hate the thought of having dirty seats.

Good too hear that mate!

I picked my VRS up yesterday, awesome are'nt they

I hope that wasn't the only reason! :D

A bit costly just to stop the aerial touching the garage roof ( buying a set of eibachs ) ;) , couldnt you just unscrew the aerial move it towards the roof then tighten it back up ??

aerial is bendy anyway!

Which pen holder are you using.. theres two! glove box and can cooler have them (random comment i know but it was mentioned!) :D

enjoy the car

Glad you like it. Welcome to the experience !! Are you going to add any 'bits'?

Got mine end of June and I love it. Having just added cruise, I'm hoping Santa is kind and brings me some Eibach springs - thought I'd smashed my sump a few weeks ago when the suspension bottomed on a dip...

No plans for Bits as I want to keep the car standard. At least for now, due to a cold reception from the dealer on Mods.

I have found the pen holder in the RHS side of the drivers little cubby hole & there is what looks like a slot by the hand brake brake. On mine one side is open and drops down into the lower bit and the other side is enclosed.

Where is the one in the glove box. Found the little storage thing under the passengers seat and under the flap in the glove box.

We are now looking at having the seats leathered as in this thread
