What VCDS mods to do

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Need some advise..

I pick my new VRS up in a couple of weeks and have already bought the cable. Could you give me an idea what adaptations you've done to yours.

Thanks for any replies

Steve.

High Beam Assist - works well on unlit motorways and A roads. Not so good on bends / undulating B roads. May try playing with sensitivity.

Cornering Fogs - good for low speed manoeuvres with lots of parked cars and high curbs in my estate.

Passenger Mirror Dip - not that great to be honest as never returns to correct position. Worked far better on Mk5 Golf.

Rear number plate LEDs - 100% vanity addition with cheap LEDs. Ordered the VAG OEM LED units, but couldn't be bothered with the electrical connection changes and became very expensive for little gain - so took the easy option.

Lap Timer - easy to do, but FA use unless you are a Ring warrior.

Want I want to be able to do in the future - ACC and Mitsumi retrofit.

I've got some LED's ready as well.

Plus some puddle light LED strip for the bottom of the doors that looked like a good mod.

Enabling both rear fogs as well

Cornering fogs (inc. speed threshold), both rear fogs, passenger wing mirror dip on reverse, DRLs only on AUTO, blower speed display in AUTO, high beam assist (inc. permanently on & sensitivity)

Missed one - tuned off the stupid sound generator as well. That, cornering fogs and high beam assist are probably my top three.

Needle sweep or is that standard on a vRS?

It's standard.
