I bought a second hand Skoda Octavia Ambient 1.6 FSI engine 2004 model. The problem is that it consumes 500 mL of engine oil for every 1000 Kms. It is usual or something alarming?

That's definitely not normal!

 

Has it been serviced correctly?

 

Do you see smoke from the exhaust?

 

Any oil leaking under the car?

But I do see the smoke while starting the car the morning. 

Also, in the skoda mannual it is writtern in very small letters that it will consume 500ml of engine oil for every 1000 Kms.

Absolutely no leakage under car.

I need to know whether it is very peculiar for the FSI engines?

what mileage has yours done. I have an 08' with 48k and have no oil consumption at all.

around 10 lit/100 kms. Nothing to worry about the mileage. Is this problem is peculiar to the FSI engines?
