Fabia MOT and Citigo courtesy car.

Featured Replies

Took my Fabia in for it`s second MOT yesterday and was given a bog standard basic Citigo as a courtesy car. Had a couple errands to do and did about 60 miles in the end in Citigo.

Apart from some excessive tyre noise on some surfaces I was quite impressed with it.

Went to collect the Fabia which had passed with no advisories and quite frankly despite having 45'000 miles on the clock felt positively archaic and lumbering after the Citigo......... :dull:  :dull:

Shows how car design has progressed in a few short years albeit in different classes.

The Citigo is an impressive little car all round. Always fun where you go [emoji16]

I'm currently debating changing my 18 month old MonteCarlo Tech TDI for a Citigo

I agree that the Fabia feels much more old fashioned than the Citigo ,particularly in its handling with 'lumbering' summing this up perfectly.

Dirty diesels sum them up I think. Will the smaller dirty diesel in the New Fabia be any better or the 3 cylinder petrols pretty much as in the Citigos. One thing is clear and that is Skoda do not want customers having too much fun in small cars.

Our next cars will be motors like the Citigo, i have been looking seriously at the Hyundai i10 in the 1.2 guise with the Premium spec..... you get a lot of car for the money that's for sure, a lot more than the Citigo and without that annoying infopod thingy sticking up on the dash, where my partner parks the car it would need to be taken off and put on after every ride.... very annoying ! So i am after something without this '' addition ''. I can see the smaller cars taking over most of the sales in the years to come.

the PID unclips and clips back very easily, we remove ours every trip no hassle at all

I loved my Citigo courtesy car! So much fun to be had throwing it into corners and revving the nuts off it to make progress. For a "basic" car it doesn't half drive well.

Must be in a minority, as we were not impressed with the CityGo, one of which we had to borrow for a few days while the previous Octy III waited for a part under warranty. Felt it was very underpowered and not as solid compared to our Fabia II HTP 70 and TSI 86.

Thank you for all your comments. If it wasn`t for the dog, I`d seriously consider a Citigo as a replacement. I have to say that my Fabia is great for motorway work. Looking foward to seeing what the new Fabia is like and hopefully the handling will be much improved. Road tests look promising......

I know its not much time but i got out of the habit of clipping and unclipping units back in the 1990's when i had to take the '' face off '' my Pioneer headunit..... its just not necessary when it can (and should) be built into the dash like the competition (Toyota, Citroen, Peugeot etc)
