Hi all - my first post.

I've just ordered an Octavia 2.0TDi Ambiente and delivery will be in 10 to 14 days. I was amazed at how quickly they can get one as I was told all current stock was sold up to build week 44. Anyway, they have checked to make sure its latest spec car (alloys, etc) and gave me a choice of colours.

The one I've opted for is Storm Blue Metallic. My question is that if you look in the brochure, they do 3 different blues, with Storm being the lightest of the 3.

On the website, they also do 3 shades of blue, but Storm is the darkest of the 3. Does anybody have a pic of a new Octavia in Strom Blue that I can see. I'm not too bothered, but I'm intrigued as to how they can be so different.

Has anybody actually got a Storm Blue metallic car that they can confirm the colour of ??

That's what the website says, but in the brochure its a much lighter colour. Have you actually seen one or are you just going off what it says on the website?

My car will be in the country on Tuesday, so I'll be able to tell you all for certain by the end of next week hopefully.

It'd be nice to know beforehand, though.

Phew, went for reliable old silver for my motor but nearly choked when i saw the storm blue vRS which is actually the race blue metallic. Race Blue wasn't available when I ordered so it turns out I didn't make the wrong choice. Just me being a bit vain really.

TBH I don't really care what colour my car is as long as it's not green or yellow (no offence Lummox) and doesn't draw attention to itself. If that means it looks like a taxi then so be it. I'll not complain if young ladies make that assumption and jump in at traffic lights either.

The new Race Blue is vRS only and not available for production until early 2006 whereas Storrn Blue was available from end June 2005 production as it replaced Deep Sea Blue.

I went to a dealer on Saturday and looked at the colour swatches that he had on the wall. Storm Blue is definitely darker than in the brochure, but not quite as dark as the website pic (shown above).

Anyway it looks, nice and very metallic, if you know what I mean.

Hmmmm. Was supposed to be delivered to dealer yesterday and then today and still no sign. My Mondeo goes back tomorrow so I'm gonna be stuck in a hire car until they get it and PDI it so they'd better hurry up.
