Fabia VRS - Slight pull to left

Featured Replies

Picked up VRS on Saturday 3rd Sept.

Generally pleased with car.

However I noticed that there was a slight pull to the left........I tried car on numerous roads and it still seems to slightly pull to the left.

Today Thursday 15th Sept I took car to dealer and have had a full wheel alignment.

Car still seems to pull to left, again I have had a drive round as much as possible, and am not sure if it is pulling to left, or being pulled by different cambers and road sufaces.

What are other VRS driver experiences?

It does vary a lot. Sometimes you can let go of the wheel and it goes dead straight - Other times its quite a pronounced pull.

Have you tried doing it (on clear roads obviously ;)) straddling the centre lane markings? If camber were to blame, in theory it should be "flat" in the dead centre of the road. I had a 4 wheel laser alignment check as well, and it still does it too in certain conditions.

I just blame the camber usually. :)

Noticed a slight pull to the left that I haven't noticed before last night going down the M1 , might drop by the dealer this evening and mention it.

Yes it seems to be the same as you describe.

I will try it on a clear road tonight as you suggest.

I am also coming to the conclusion that it is cambers and down to the Continental tyres that have a banded pattern and are causing the car to tram line.

Highly direction tread pattern might make it pull slightly more, as it "grips" the camber more? Not sure - should be tiny fractions of difference really.

Go for the "drive into oncoming traffic" technique and report back if you survive. ;)

When we had the trip to France a few months back, I did notice that the pull to the left I get in mine didn't happen driving on the other side. I guess it's something us islanders just have to put up with as a result of the LHD to RHD conversion.

Mine too does pull slightly to the left. Its something I'm happy to put up with.

Atleast if I fall asleep at the wheel, I end up in the rib line / verge instead of hitting an oncoming car

I would have it looked at, but whenever I have had it done on previous cars the steering wheel has ended up being off centre, which would annoy me even more than the slight pull!! ;)

Never noticed it pulling to the left until I had the front tyre's replaced while in for a service.

I took the car back to the dealer but he said this was common for the Fabia. Now I'm used to it I hardly notice.

Skoda is the only car I've driven which pulls to the left and whenever I've asked, I've been told "they all do that, sir". You get used to it after a while
