What no front fog light warning?

Featured Replies

My old Octy had warning lights on the Dash to tell you when both the front and rear fog lights were on. My new Octy II only has one for the rear. Though it was 'broken' at first, but checked the manual and can't find any sign of a front fog light indicator lamp on the dash  Seems strange as your more likely to have just the front on rather than both.

I thought it was odd as well, but if you look at the light control switch the front fog indicator is dimly lit up.

You can't see it because of the steering wheel no matter what position you drive in.

Good excuse for when pc plod pulls you over for using your front fogs when there is no fog. 'It's a design fault officer, get in i'll show you!'

If you use your fog lights when there is no fog, then I hope you get fined !! These nurds really bug me.:mad::mad: :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:

I didn't mean ME! I was talking about people generally. It bugs me too so I used to flash my headlights at anyone who drove towards me with front fogs turned on. The odd time people would catch up with me and ask why I flashed. "You forgot to turn your foglights off mate" i'd say as i watched the rage kick in.

Don't do it anymore because I got fined for warning other drivers of a speed trap I hadn't noticed back up the road. Bet the guy with the foglights on didn't get stopped though.

The highways code states that you use fog lights for bad visibility, not just when it's foggy.

What's this 'highway code' anyway?

94: You MUST NOT

use any lights in a way which would dazzle or cause discomfort to other road users

use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves to avoid dazzling other road users.

I think it was some kind of book people used to read :D

Rolled up tight, it makes an excellent lumbar support :)

Honestly! You'll be wanting an "engine on" warning light next.

I prefer people to have their fog lights on than mis-algined headlights!

The Toyota Prius has one!

Anybody know if its possible to rewire the light switch so that the rear fogs come without having to have the front fogs on.

Personally I think that front fogs are a waste of time, the amount of times it is bad enough for them to be any use is pretty rare

Couldn't agree more!

Pull the fuse

Not much use to the driver, but might give someone outside a better chance of seeing you before it was too late...aaarrrrrghh!

I meant 'Pull the fuse' on this thread. It's going nowhere.
