Goodbye VRS

Featured Replies

Finally moved on from the VRS. Really wanted something a little more laid back. Went for this.

2009 BMW 330d M Sport. 47k with FBMWSH. I absolutely love it too. 50mpg on a run, 40ish around town. Truly incredible machine.

Excellent motors....my Dad had a loaded up 335d M Sport when the E92 coupe first got launched and was both seriously quick and frugal. I still think BMW make about the best 6 cylinder diesel going.

Was one of those cars I'd have loved to have bought of him but would never have afforded it at the time.

My thoughts also.

Nice find, looks a lovely spec and well cared for.

Nice wheels

Beautifully looking machine! how do these bad boys pull?

very nice mate :) at least I know you are not one of our traffic police, its not in blue! ;)

Lovely motor. One of the few cars I'd think of replacing the Fabia with eventually. Probably that or a 3.0L TDI A5 Quattro. Really like the colour of that too, little bit different but still subtle.

Like a train. Obviously, all diesels have great torque, but this car is so relaxed. I'm not kidding you either, I suffer from a bad lower back and the best remedy for me in the last 6 years has been to sit in these M Sport seats for half an hour  :giggle: They're absolutely fantastic.

You can get a really nice one of these for about £10k. BMW do a warranty for cars over 3 years of age (mine is nearly 6) As long as the car's not done over 100k, the cost is very reasonable. If like mine, the mileage is sub 50k, it cost me £32 per month for comprehensive cover. Great piece of mind if the worst happens. Of course, like all warranties, normal wear & tear isn't covered, but if one of these engines or gearboxes goes pop, it's VERY expensive.

My insurance is £200 annually, it's economical and quick. I'm really happy I got one and am converted to BMW now

I drove an old (new shape.. 2009?) 328 on the track (115k) at blyton, and I loved the handling! didn't have as much ultimate grip as my vRS, but the turn in was awesome, and the balance when the back let go was so easy and fun to control.... you can see why the motoring press rave about the handling in reviews :) it was fun!

LOL, I haven't driven a rear wheel drive car for 20 years and I had a scary surprise in store for me around an off camber bend in Liverpool. It was wet and I applied some power on the exit of the corner ....... Woah. I WAS NOT laughing .....   :D

just makes for more fun! (maybe off road! lol)

a track day in it, and you will enjoy more... keep up here on brisky other makes are welcomed :)

Lovely car ! Red again :) you must like red

To be honest, the Fabia was my first red car. Didn't spec the colour (from Drivethedeal) but liked it anyway. The BMW was deliberate. Although I like other colours in the coupe, as there wasn't many red ones (this was the only red one I found in a 2 month spell) and the wife really liked it, job done

That is a very attractive car indeed, looks lovely inside and out. Having something like this just makes it easier i guess to trade in the VRS. Enjoy..... and maybe think of some winter tyres to sit in the garage until the white stuff starts to come down.... RWD in the cold is not fun at all, my last BMW had winter tyres on when it dropped below 5 c and it made a huge difference.

Very nice looking car.

Lovely engines in them - very good for mapping!
